Cops take the first batch of guns under new laws following the Parkland massacre

Rick Scott signed the bill a week ago, and now the police have taken the guns of a 56-year-old man in South Florida. He was taken to the hospital involuntarily for psychiatric treatment under the Baker Act.

According to the article by the SunSentinel, Broward’s Chief Judge Jack Tuter signed the order for a shotgun and three handguns to be temporarily confiscated.

The judge noted in his order that the South Florida man told officers he “was being targeted and burglarized by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and a neighbor who lives in {his} building,” and “{He} could not describe the neighbor but stated that the neighbor {can} ‘shape shift, he can change heights and I’m not sure where he comes from’ and ‘to be honest, he looks like Osama Bin Laden.’”

“…the neighbor can shape shift, he can change heights and I’m not sure where he comes from and to be honest, he looks like Osama Bin Laden.”

It will be determined in the final hearing on March 28th if the guns need to remain in the State’s procession for one year. If the state maintains procession of the firearms, then violating that order would result in a 3rd degree felony punishable by up to $5,000 and five years in prison.
